A picture book in rhyme and full color about a button and button-hole who live on a gentleman’s vest. Unfortunately, the man’s vest gets tight after many visits to Ms. Murphy’s sweet shop, so that soon, “The button and the button-hole began to feel a tug. Each day it grew more difficult for them to meet and hug, until at last they found they had to pull with all their might, for the man was getting f-a-t-t-e-r and the vest was getting tight!” But the tale has a happy ending indeed, when Ms. Murphy comes to the rescue.
